Wild Cards, Bookings, Defensive Options – Fantasy Premeir League Gameweek 19 Preview

Use your wild card wisely

Gameweek 19 is scheduled on the Boxing Day and the Fantasy Premier League managers would want a high score as a Christmas gift from their dear Santa! While some of the inevitable facts have been much traversed like the importance of Michu or the defence of Stoke, some of the other important factors which we must keep in mind as we progress into the 19th game week as follows.

Keep the Wild-card intact:

If you have not used the wild-card till now, it is better to keep it intact at this point of the season as the chances for double game weeks would be on the increase from now on, with many matches being cancelled due to extreme weather. So, the wild-card should be used when the matches are scheduled and the perfect team can be set which would include maximum players with double game weeks.

Chelsea back with a bang:

For a team which has scored 13 goals in one week, it can be said very definitely that the team is back in business. Mata has been absolutely brilliant lately and has been the most instrumental of the midfielders, offering an assist a scoring a goal every now and then. So, it would be pretty meaningful to keep Mata in the team and include him fast as his price is on the ever increase. Torres is again finding the net, thanks to Benitez’s Midas-touch and thus could once again be considered for the team although his price is still on the higher side. But with quite an easy fixture, it would be worth taking a risk to include Torres in the team. But the one player who is looking absolutely necessary in the Fantasy Premier League teams is David Luiz. A long time demand to play him in the midfield has been kept by Benitez and he is quite living upto the expectations. So it is a foolish thing not to accommodate him in the team as this man will provide you points for goals, assists and to top it all clean-sheets!

Keep an eye on the bookings:

Some of the most important players of the Fantasy Premier League are now facing the card problem and are just one card away from an uncomfortable one match ban. Van Persie, Michu, Rooney, Bale, Defoe, Cameron, Shawcross are booked four times already and need to play with care to avoid the suspension. The Fantasy Premier League managers must avoid keeping too much players with this problem in their team so that if some of them are booked simultaneously, the managers can still manage to have a full eleven member squad. So, among other important factors, keep this in mind while assembling your team or going for the transfer ins.

Defensively Manchester City looks brilliant:

With five easy matches in the next six, Manchester City seem to the most reliable team not to concede a goal. If Mancini wants to take a shot at the title he must keep on getting the clean-sheets and by this time he has probably mended his ways as seen during their last meeting with Reading. So the City defenders must not be kept out of the team if the managers are looking to bank on some neat points earned from the defenders. While Kompany is expensive a player just for the defensive purposes, Zabaleta and Nastasic look the perfect players to be kept in the team. Zabaleta is priced at £5.8 and Nastatic at £5.6, which are quite moderate price for defenders getting regular starts for their teams. So strengthen your defence by keeping players from City and go on to win some well deserved points.
