Wolves signing this 19-year-old Ligue 1 ace would add depth to a key area for Nuno

Why Wolves signing Aurelien Tchouameni would add depth to their squad

According to Jenues Footeux (h/t BirminghamLive), Wolves have been credited with an interest in rising teen star Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni, 19, rose through the ranks of Girondins Bordeaux youth system and made his début for the senior team last December. Since then, the youngster has racked up 31 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Despite scoring and assisting just 1 in 31 games for Bordeaux, Tchouameni has garnered attention across Europe with his talent on the pitch.

The report also suggests that Inter Milan and Sevilla are keeping close tabs on the teenager. He has represented France in various age groups, up to the U19 level.

Meanwhile, under Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolves have closed the gap within the top six in the league. In fact, they are in the right position to challenge the Premier League heavyweights.

While forwards Diogo Jota, Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore have risen to the occasion, midfielders Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves have taken charge of controlling their games in the centre.

Speaking about midfielders though, the Wolves’ boss must add reinforcements in January as the league is set to get tougher in the latter half of the season and with their participation in the Europa League, they must strengthen themselves.

In this regard, Tchouameni would be a perfect fit to add to their plethora of excellent midfielders. He would be a useful addition to the squad by coming on from the bench for Nuno.

The 19-year-old has put in some eye-catching displays for Bordeaux this term, which has seen him being compared to fellow countryman Paul Pogba, according to BirminghamLive.

An exciting talent, Tchouameni has averaged 52.3 passes with 85.4% accuracy, Having made 13 successful dribbles, he has registered 16 clearances in the Ligue 1 this season, as per Whoscored.

Though his numbers don’t make for excellent reading, his presence has helped his current club rise to 3rd spot in the league standings.

Wolves, who are known for moulding young talents across Europe, could provide Tchouameni with the right stage to develop himself in the Premier League.
