Why Tottenham would win if Juventus send Adrien Rabiot for Christian Eriksen
It has been a difficult season for Tottenham after just eight games of the Premier League campaign.
Spurs were expected to build on their Champions League final appearance, but things have gone downhill since the loss to Liverpool.
The summer saw them buy four players, but they haven’t been at their best under Mauricio Pochettino.
There are several players who are free agents at the end of the season, and the lack of clarity regarding their future is a cause for concern.
Christian Eriksen could leave for free in the summer but there is interest in the Dane from Juventus.
The Serie A giants want to sign him in January and could send Adrien Rabiot the other way (h/t Calciomercato).
Losing Eriksen might be a blow to Spurs, but this deal could see them come out as the winners.
A quality swap deal for Spurs
Eriksen’s head doesn’t seem to be at Spurs currently, and it is hard to blame him completely as he spoke about his desire to play somewhere else in the summer.
The Dane couldn’t seal an exit from London but he should be performing better for Tottenham. Spurs could also do with a midfielder coming into the side, and Rabiot is still one of the brightest talents in the world.
The Frenchman is three years younger than Eriksen and was one of the most sought-after transfers in the summer.
Liverpool, Tottenham and a host of other clubs were linked with Rabiot (h/t Express), but the Frenchman ended up at Juventus.
The Old Lady are incredible at luring free agents and have signed the likes of Emre Can and Aaron Ramsey on similar deals recently.
However, things aren’t going great for the 24-year-old Rabiot. The midfielder has played just thrice under Maurizio Sarri and faces immense competition for places at Juve.
Getting a quality replacement for Eriksen at the end of the season won’t be easy, however, landing Rabiot in January would be a fantastic outcome from the situation.
The Frenchman would want to play more games and with Mauricio Pochettino on his side, he could develop further at Tottenham.

Spurs already several French
Losing Eriksen on a free would be a major blow to Tottenham, however, getting Rabiot in place of the Dane in January would be an excellent deal for the Premier League side.
There aren’t many top midfielders who can do a bit of everything, but the Frenchman could be an outstanding player for Spurs, and the Premier League giants would come out on top in this trade deal of sorts.
