Tottenham signing this world-class South American star would make them a lethal European force

Why Tottenham should go all out to sign Paulo Dybala in January

According to Daily Star, Tottenham will be offered another chance to sign Juventus star Paulo Dybala during the January transfer window.

The Argentine forward, 25, came close to joining Tottenham in the summer before Juventus pulled the plug on the deal. It is claimed that Paulo Dybala’s wage demands and image rights were also a major stumbling block.

However, Tottenham will once again consider a move for the Argentine in January, as Mauricio Pochettino remains a fan of his fellow countryman. And as per the report, Juventus will not stand in the way of their star forward swapping the Allianz Stadium for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino strengthened his Tottenham squad over the summer but he’ll not be pleased with the way his team has started the new Premier League campaign.

After just four games into the season, Spurs are already seven points behind table-toppers Liverpool, who have enjoyed a perfect 2019/20 so far.

There have been a couple of off-field problems that have hampered Tottenham. One of those is of Christian Eriksen, who is out of contract next summer and would be available for free.

So Tottenham have a huge decision to make over the playmaker in January. Should he depart in the New Year, a move for Dybala would make complete sense for Spurs.

Regarded as one of the most gifted players in world football, Dybala is perfectly suited to playing either as a creative false 9 or as a number 10. He can also play on the right but the 25-year-old is at his sublime best when played through the middle.

The Argentinean ace likes to drop deeper and take part in the build-up, which will make Spurs much more compact and efficient.

A technically gifted player with real pace and energy, Dybala is quite tricky to deal with for any defender and can be a real handful because of his movement and guile in the final third.

He will undoubtedly bolster Pochettino’s attacking options and will also add some serious competition for the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli.

Verdict

Dybala could be a fantastic addition to the Tottenham ranks given his all-round qualities in the attack. Additionally, the diminutive player’s versatility could allow Pochettino to explore new possibilities and formations as well.

In other words, signing Dybala would make them a force to reckon with in Europe.
