Why Tottenham Should Try And Get The Deal For Denis Suarez Done

Tottenham Hotspur have had a distinctive approach to their transfer business this summer as they are yet to add a player to their first team and have allowed one of their first team stars to quit the club almost a month ago. The manager, however, is now growing desperate and is looking for quality additions before the deadline day.

Mauricio Pochettino has been looking at some of the brightest players in world football for a move this summer but has not been able to land any of his top transfer targets. One player now linked with a move to the club is Barcelona star, Denis Suarez.

Born and brought up in Spain, the 23-year old is one of the most exciting players in La Liga but he has not been able to cement a place in the first team at the Camp Nou. He was a part of the squad at Manchester City for a couple of years but failed to make a single PL appearance before being shipped back to Spain.

He joined Barcelona in 2013 but only made a name for himself with his performances at Villarreal while on loan, which allowed him to move back to the Camp Nou at the start of the previous season. He picked up 4 assists and a goal in 26 domestic league appearances, most of which came off the bench, and the lack of playing time is pushing him out of Catalonia this summer.

According to the reports, Tottenham Hotspur have decided that he is the right man for their side this season and are ready to submit a £27m bid for his services. He is also being scouted by Italian giants Napoli but is he the right man for Spurs?

Capable of playing on the wing or through the middle, Suarez is a gifted footballer with interesting imagination when in possession of the ball at his feet. His skills, tricks and dribbling abilities are a nightmare for the defenders while his ability to create chances on a consistent basis will find him a place in even the best squads in Europe.

He has to work on his defensive contributions and aerial abilities but he is a player who can have a great future under Pochettino, a manager who believes in giving youngsters their chances to shine.

The likes of Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen are expected to hog three of the four attacking positions and Suarez would be perfect for the fourth position. The likes of Eric Lamela and Moussa Sissoko have not cemented a place in the team due to various reasons. Suarez would have to fight it out with Son Heung-min for a place in the first team and this competition is only going to make the Tottenham squad healthy.
