Manchester United’s last campaign was full of ups and downs but yet they have managed to qualify for the Champions League and are now desperate to add some quality to their first team for the challenges next season. They have been linked with some of the finest stars in world football and the latest name constantly doing the rounds is Monaco star Fabinho.

Like every player in the first team squad at the Stade Louis II, Fabinho was in exceptional form for the French outfit, who managed to clinch their first league title in more than 15 years, also stealing a place in the semi-final of the Champions League in the previous season.

A defensive midfielder by trait, Fabinho can also play as a right back and showed equal maturity in both positions in the last couple of years. And Manchester United were given a huge boost after the player revealed that a move to Old Trafford could be too tempting to turn down, in a recent interview with Esporte Interativo. So should United push through with this deal?

With 12 goals and six assists in 55 games in all competitions in France, the 23-year old Brazilian star has already established himself as the first team starter for club and country and is fast growing as one of the most versatile players in Europe at the moment.

A strong ball-player who loves to have possession and dictate play, Fabinho has an insane vision that allows him to distribute key passes consistently into dangerous areas. He hardly ever loses the ball and loves to play short passes to weave his magic over defenders and Manchester United want him to the partner that can allow Paul Pogba to express himself better next season.

He is also an excellent reader of the game and is hard to beat in one on one situations and is adept at sitting back and shielding his backline when needed. Jose Mourinho is expected to use Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba along with a new signing at Old Trafford next season and though there are some top class names linked with a move to the club, Fabinho could just be the right man for the Red Devils.

His balance between defence and attack will attract Mourinho who is sure to use him extensively in the first team next season and at just 23, the Brazilian has every chance to turn into a legend at the Theatre of Dreams. But do you think Mourinho will finally lure him to Old Trafford, after being linked for some time now?
