Why Ben Chilwell will have a massive impact on Leicester City this season

Leicester City have looked confident under Claude Puel this season after picking up 2 wins from their opening 4 games of the season. Leicester were unable to get past Manchester United and Liverpool but romped to wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.

The Foxes are currently 8th in the league and will be aiming to make a strong impact this season. Leicester have also looked defensively solid, conceding just 5 goals so far. Left-back Ben Chilwell has so far excelled for the club after being handed a regular role under Puel.

The 21-year-old has played all 4 games so far and has picked up one man of the match award. He has looked superb in the Foxes’ backline and has also been threatening going forward.

A very mobile and agile full-back, Chilwell constantly surges up and down the field, proving to be an extremely tireless worker for the team. The youngster is defensively diligent and smart with the ball in possession.

What makes him an enticing option is his ability to play as a left-midfielder as well. Chilwell is a versatile defender and can play in a number of systems. He has finally nailed down a regular role at the club and now is the time for the left-back to maintain some consistency in his performances.

As Leicester City return to take on Bournemouth in the league, Claude Puel will definitely need another strong performance from the young left-back. Chilwell will certainly play a huge role for the club this season as his early performances suggest the same.

At the age of 21, he has shown immense potential and maturity in his game. The youngster is certainly destined for greater things.
