Why Celtic Star Scott Sinclair Would Be A Good Addition For Brighton and Hove Albion

As per a report from Daily Mail, Brighton are interested in a summer move for Celtic star Scott Sinclair. In addition to the Seagulls, Bournemouth are also understood to be harbouring an interest.

Both clubs could certainly use a player like Sinclair but in my opinion, a move to Brighton could benefit the player. A lethal attacker by nature, the 29-year-old has two more years left on his contract at Celtic. However, it remains to be seen if Brighton test Celtic’s resolve.

Sinclair made the move to Scotland and joined the Glasgow giants in 2016. Prior to that, he was playing for Aston Villa. This shows that the player has had a taste of English football before.

His sheer quality has been visible at Celtic and he was a standout performer for them right after joining the club. However, he has not received a start in the club’s last two games.

Irrespective of whether he’s a regular at Celtic or not, Sinclair should weigh up a move to Brighton. Despite being a newly-promoted side, Chris Hughton’s men have managed to stay afloat in the Premier League and had even broken into the top ten on a few occasions.

At present, they are placed 12th in the league standings and it is safe to say that they have done well this term. Next season, however, will have a new set of challenges and to deal with it, an experienced attacker like Sinclair can truly work wonders.

Although Brighton have done well this campaign, they have often struggled in the final third. They have some strong midfielders and defenders but their attackers have not been up to the par.

Until now, Hughton has utilised the likes of José Izquierdo and Jurgen Locadia on the left-wing but if Sinclair comes in, he would undoubtedly occupy the left-wing. He has scored 12 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions and he seems like an upgrade on Brighton’s current options.

Furthermore, Locadia is a natural centre-forward and so Brighton will need more solid options at left-wing apart from Izquierdo. Thus, it seems almost imperative for the Seagulls to make an effort to acquire Sinclair’s services.

Blessed with ample technical knowledge, pace and creativity, he can not only be a goalscoring outlet but can also serve as a creative outlet for the strikers to flourish.
