Why this 21-year-old Premier League midfield ace would be a perfect partner for Keita at Liverpool

Why Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi Could Form A Brilliant Partnership With Naby Keita At Liverpool

Liverpool are interested in a summer swoop for Leicester City’s breakthrough midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, as per a report from The Sun. The same report also goes on to claim that the Reds are increasingly desperate to sign a player like Ndidi since Emre Can’s impending departure seems highly likely right now.

In fact, a few days back, a report from Daily Mail had claimed that Italian giants Juventus are intent on signing Can and that does look like a worrisome prospect for Jurgen Klopp, who is short of options in the midfield area.

Hence, a move for Ndidi does seem like a good one. The 21-year-old has arguably been their best performer this season and has delivered positive results on a consistent basis.

Even when the club was going through a turmoil during Craig Shakespeare’s final few weeks, Ndidi continued to impress. His form has improved even more since Claude Puel arrival and he is easily one of the most promising young stars in the Premier League right now.

In fact, the Foxes may have lost to Chelsea in the recently concluded FA Cup quarterfinal but Ndidi shone for them throughout the game. Ever since his January move from Genk last year, the Nigerian has been an excellent player for the club and he could work wonders in a Liverpool team that is desperately in need of a holding midfielder.

Ever since Lucas Leiva departed, the Merseyside outfit have lacked a solid presence at the base of the midfield and Ndidi seems like an excellent prospect.

Although Naby Keita is set to arrive at Anfield this summer, the club does stand a solid chance of losing Can. Furthermore, Jordan Henderson has not exactly been consistent enough and it is quite clear that a new defensive midfielder can truly elevate Liverpool’s performances to the next level.

Ndidi rose to the challenge and filled the massive void left behind by N’Golo Kante at the King Power Stadium and that should be reason enough to believe that he can replicate the same for Liverpool as well.

Hence, this is a move that can benefit Liverpool and it can also provide Ndidi with a greater stage to showcase his talent. Joining the Reds will also offer him a chance to play in the coveted UEFA Champions League and that is something that will certainly appeal to the youngster.

Also, a player like him can strike up a strong partnership with Keita and the duo could bring some much-needed dynamism to the Liverpool midfield.
