Why this 17-year-old left-footed wizard must ditch PSG interest and join Tottenham instead

According to reports, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are chasing Fulham wonder kid, Ryan Sessegnon. Apart from PSG, Sessegnon is reportedly a long-term target for Tottenham and is also on the radars of champions Manchester City and their rivals Manchester United.

The teenage sensation has been tearing it up in the Championship with the Cottagers this year. His 15 goals have propelled Fulham into the playoffs. Those goals and his all-round performances have seen Sessegnon garner a lot of interest from Europe’s top elites, including the likes of PSG and Spurs.

Sessegnon’s future will be dependent on whether Fulham get promoted to the Premier League. Should the Cottagers fail, it will be very difficult to keep hold of their starlet.

Sessegnon has established himself as one of the hottest properties in Europe. His primary position is left-back but he is capable of playing further up the pitch. The 17-year-old has shown tremendous pace and threat when getting forward but also displays top work-ethic to track back if caught on the counter-attack.

A typical modern-day full-back, the 17-year-old loves to get forward and help his teammates in the attack. His pace has tormented opposition defences in the Championship this term as the young gun has shown confidence and bravery to take his man on and beat him with his searing pace.

What is so heartening to watch is the way in which Sessegnon utilises his strengths to good effect. He is quick, sharp, and comfortable on the ball with eagerness to find pockets of space behind the defenders. Also, his vision to find his teammates is highly commendable for his age.

Sessegnon shows maturity while reading the game and uses his skill-set quite wisely. While he is strong defensively, it is the attacking areas where the 17-year-old actually bursts into life. Primarily a left-back, Sessegnon thrives more in an advanced role.

These traits in a 17-year-old are likely to have highly attracted PSG and Tottenham. One of the richest clubs in Europe, PSG won’t shy away from splashing the money on Sessegnon to lure him to the capital as he could solve their left-back problems for a decade or more.

Tottenham, on the other hand, want the teenager to replace Danny Rose, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has gained a lot of reputation for developing young players and nurturing their talent. Given that Sessegnon has shown a lot of promise and reportedly wants to stay in London, the starlet should ditch a move to PSG and join Tottenham if he thinks about leaving Fulham.

Sessegnon has all the ingredients to reach the very top and Pochettino would be the ideal manager to help him achieve everything that he craves for.
