Why Lukasz Teodorczyk Is The Right Man For Everton
Ronald Koeman has done a decent job in his first season at the Goodison Park as he managed to take them to a place in the Europa League after a 7th place finish last season. The club’s talisman Romelu Lukaku is close to an exit after he revealed that he wants to play for a club which competes in the Champions League regularly.
Everton are not afraid of losing him as they have set a mammoth price tag of £100m, which both Manchester United and Chelsea are prepared to meet. However, it will not be easy for the manager to find an able replacement and reports suggest that he is looking at Anderlecht’s Lukasz Teodorczyk as a possible replacement for Lukaku.
According to Liverpool Echo, Everton are set to battle it out with local rivals Liverpool for the services of the £10million rated Polish striker, who has established himself as one of the most productive players in Europe.
He is currently the first choice striker for club and country and scored 30 goals and 5 assists in all competitions last season. It was his first full season in Belgium and the fact that he scored an insane number of goals show that he is now ready for the next step.
Capable of leading his side’s attack, Teodorczyk is also adept at playing with a strike partner and is a good finisher. At 26, he has gathered some serious exposure and experience at the highest level, scoring 5 goals and picking up an assist in the Europe league last season.
He is strong in the air and is a decent holder of the ball in dangerous areas. Though he may not be able to emulate Lukaku in his first season at Everton, he certainly looks like a player who will thrive in the English league.
Koeman is known to build his team around his best players and he did that with Lukaku. The results were impressive. And if it is that he has decided that Teodorczyk is the right man for the job, he will surely be able to get the best out of him too.
Liverpool are ready to make a £10m bid for his services and Everton need to act quickly to tie him up. At that price, Koeman can afford to take a risk on him, and still be able to add another star name to his attack, making his side an exciting one. However, he should not let his rivals lure Teodorczyk away as he could turn into the superstar in the years to come.
