Barcelona would be absolutely wise to consider Suarez’s advice and sign this 11-goal PL star

Why Tammy Abraham would be the right choice for Barcelona

The Mirror suggests that Barcelona ace Luis Suarez has declared his admiration for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

Suarez recently claimed that he knows the Catalans are in search of a striker to succeed him and has identified Tammy Abraham as the top choice.

In an interview with One Football (h/t The Mirror), the former Liverpool striker revealed that he knew his time at Camp Nou would come to an end soon. While speaking about a potential long-term replacement, Suarez heaped praise on the young Tammy Abraham, claiming he has a good finish despite being young.

Abraham, 22, came through the ranks of Chelsea’s youth system and was loaned out to several clubs initially before arriving at Aston Villa last season. At Villa, Abraham was very successful and went on to bang in 26 goals in the Championship.

He along with club captain Jack Grealish was instrumental in winning the Championship last year and in the process, got Villa Promoted to the top-flight league. The striker has continued the same form into this season and has already scored 11 goals in the league.

Since Chelsea were banned from signing players, Frank Lampard has put his faith in the youngsters, who have done exceptionally well. And Abraham’s stand out performances have gained a lot of attention.

Meanwhile, Barcelona, who are in search of a striker to replace Suarez, are in a good run of form this season despite starting the season on a low note. They are on top of the La Liga table level on points with Real Madrid but with a superior goal difference.

Above all these, Luis Suarez performed consistently at a higher level for them since his arrival from Liverpool. A complete striker, the Uruguayan has made 263 appearances for the Catalans, scoring 187 goals for them.

This season, Suarez has not been so prolific like he was in the previous seasons and his age (31) has also become one factor that has prompted the Catalans to look for his successor. This is why Chelsea’s highly-talented striker Tammy Abraham would be a good prospect to look at.

The 21-year-old has got the speed and has a knack of scoring at a higher rate, which has been evident from the start of last season. The lanky striker has surpassed all expectations when there were doubts of Chelsea’s consistency this season, as they had no in-form striker to lead their attack.

Abraham’s goalscoring potential has put Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud on the bench. He has won a few games for the Blues on his own. Abraham, along with several other youngsters in the squad have lifted Chelsea to 4th place in the league.

In Barcelona, the Englishman would get an opportunity to play with the best players, which can be a motivation for his improvement. Playing alongside Lionel Messi, Frenkie De Jong and Antoine Griezmann would surely have a huge positive impact on him.

Verdict

With all this in mind, Barcelona should move for the fast-developing striker, who has etched his mark in the Premier League in a short span of time. His ability shows he can go on to shine in La Liga, provided he gets opportunities regularly.

Therefore, if Barcelona sign him, he would be the perfect fit to carry on their legacy. and it would be good if Ernesto Valverde considers Suarez’s comments and makes a move for him.
