Why Should This Super Versatile Player Be A Top Priority For Liverpool To Sign?

Liverpool might have invested in youth this transfer season but at times the club have looked for more experience to help them through and, unfortunately, that is lacking in their current squad. Sure they might have some top quality players but there really is nothing like experience in a squad. Gerrard will be leaving at the end of the season and no one really knows what will happen with Kolo Toure as well, so Liverpool will be short on those players with games under their belt but they still might be able to sign one player who has bag loads of experience, talent and he just might be available for the right price.

Boring James Milner? Not boring at all

While the links with James Milner from Liverpool have been on for almost a year now, at the end of this season, he will become a free agent, which means that a team does not have to pay Manchester City any fee to sign the midfielder. Milner might be 29 years of age, but he has a lot of experience playing in the Premier League and would be a brilliant addition to any squad.

Liverpool not only need a player with experience, they need someone who can play in multiple positions and that is something that Milner provides. He can play as a right-back, central midfielder or a winger as required, he can also play as a supporting striker as well if that is required. Brendan Rodgers wants to have such players at his disposal who can make a difference by playing in a variety of positions and that is something that Milner provides.

It isn’t just experience of playing games that Milner would bring to the squad, he has won 2 Premier League medals something that Liverpool have not been able to do and that is again another plus for having him in the squad. Plus, he would be getting more game time at Liverpool than he would be getting at Manchester City, who are looking for a summer clear out for a lot of players and Milner might just be one player who could be left out in the cold by City.

Liverpool have a lot of English players in their squad and including another one should be their top priority, they will not get a player as versatile and giving as James Milner is, that too on a free. Liverpool should act now and seal the deal rather than wait for the end of the season and then negotiate with the player.
