Arsenal

Arsenal would be wise to end this England U21 hat-trick hero’s misery and recall him from loan – Agreed?

Why should Arsenal recall Eddie Nketiah from loan

According to The Sun, Arsenal have the ability to recall Eddie Nketiah from Leeds United – if the Championship club continue snubbing from first-team games.

Arsenal have some performance clauses in Nketiah’s contract and if they are not matched, the Gunners can recall him back to the Emirates Stadium.

Championship clubs have already played 14 games in this season but the Arsenal youngster is yet to make a starting appearance. Nketiah has made 10 second-tier appearances this season and has scored three goals while making two Carabao Cup appearances – both in the starting XI – where he scored two goals.

However, he is yet to get a reward for his highly-rated performance stats of a goal every 86 minutes.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah, who has made 19 senior appearances for Arsenal with a return of three goals, recently admitted that he was disappointed with his lack of starts for Leeds. His comments came after his hat-trick for England Under-21 in the UEFA Euro U21.

Now, Arsenal’s sole idea behind sending the youngster out on loan was to get him more playing minutes. However, playing time is the only thing that Nketiah is not getting with the Whites. It is a situation wherein they should bring the 20-year-old back to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners boss Unai Emery would be able to provide Nketiah with some exposure to the Premier League bit by bit. Even though he is highly unlikely to get more minutes at the Emirates Stadium right now, he at least will be training with his future teammates.

Nketiah can also provide proper backup to either Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – both of whom are regularly utilized as a striker by the former PSG boss.

Nketiah is just 20 and it is his age of learning and training. The experience of Lacazette and Aubameyang combined would be an additional positive which he will have at Arsenal.

Emery can also hand him opportunities in easy fixtures – regardless of whether they are in the Premier League or in other domestic cups. He will also have a chance of getting exposure to European football – which is a luxury Leeds United cannot afford at the moment.
