Real Madrid’s midfield future would be sorted with the arrival of this €30m wonderkid

Why Real Madrid’s attempt to land Reinier would be a great futuristic move

According to Spanish outlet AS English, Real Madrid have already reached an agreement with Flamengo wonderkid Reinier Jesus Carvalho.

The La Liga giants have agreed to pay his €30million release clause and the move will be confirmed once the player turns 18 on 19th January, the report added.

Though no confirmation regarding the contract has been made yet, it is believed that the player will pen down a long-term deal with the Spanish side, which could extend up to 6 years, the report claims.

Reinier, who has drawn comparisons to Brazil’s former star Kaka, was in great form for his side Flamengo, scoring 6 goals and providing 2 assists in 14 league games last season.

After making his senior team debut in July last year, Reinier’s exploits in such a short span of time has attracted the Los Blancos.

However, the attacking midfielder will join Real Madrid Castilla – their second team, and will continue his development there instead of the first-team.

An out and out creative player, Reinier will be a great future addition to a Real Madrid side that has midfielders in abundance. Though they have as many as seven midfielders in their ranks, Madrid do not have many who are blessed with an attacking flair going forward, except for Isco.

Moreover, with their main men in the middle – Luka Modric and Toni Kroos now past their thirties it would be immensely beneficial if Madrid soon starts finding proper replacements for them with an eye on the future.

Madrid, who lost against a youthful Ajax side in the Champions League Round of 16 last season have been undergoing a transition of sorts with the club making many new young signings in the summer.

Once the deal is confirmed the teenager will join the likes of Eder Militao, Federico Valverde, Takefusa Kubo, Vinicius Junior, Achraf Hakimi, and Rodrygo in the growing list of talented youngsters the club has already acquired.

Their signings in the recent past speak volumes regarding the club’s idea of building a top-team consisting of promising talents for the future and Reinier’s inclusion will only add further strength to it.

For a side that usually dealt with marquee signings only, last summer’s approach seemed a little out of the box. However, now the picture looks even clearer, with the club now on the lookout for the young Reinier.

Verdict

With the sides’ current crop of players almost reaching the last stages of their careers, Reinier’s deal comes at an appropriate time. Moreover, he has the opportunity to learn from the best at one of the top clubs in Europe.

Thus, by all means, Real Madrid’s attempt to land the talented Reinier seems like a great futuristic move.
