Why Real Madrid over Barcelona could be the ideal destination for this 69-goal Premier League superstar

Why Real Madrid over Barcelona could be the perfect destination for Eden Hazard

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have voids to fill after losing Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta respectively. It’s been one hell of a season for both clubs, which saw Barcelona lift the La Liga title and Madrid claim their third straight Champions League title. Both Spanish teams have together dominated the world of football for a number of years.

The clubs will once again be going head to head in a battle to earn the signature of Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard. Both the clubs are reportedly interested in signing the Belgian captain, who has been in stunning form for his country at the World Cup.

Belgium failed to get past France in the semi-finals but Hazard was in the thick of the action. He was impressive throughout the game as Belgium looked for an equaliser to cancel Umititi’s goal but his efforts were in vain as they ultimately lost the game 1-0 on the night.

Eden Hazard

Hazard has been one of Chelsea’s main men over the last few years. He has often carried the team single-handedly. Whenever Chelsea have been asked questions, Hazard has been the answer. He has been at the forefront of everything good Chelsea produce going forward.

Of the two teams chasing the Belgian, it seems like Real Madrid would be a better option. They have long been admirers of the Belgian captain and have been tracking him for a number of years.

Though Hazard has a contract with Chelsea that keeps him at the Stamford Bridge until 2020, the player could be convinced to make the move.

Hazard has made a total of 208 league appearances for the Blues, scoring 69 goals and providing 39 assists. He has played a wide number of roles for the club.

The 27-year-old has played as a winger, central attacking midfielder and as a false nine. He made a total of 34 appearances last season, scoring 12 goals and 4 assists across the campaign.

In Madrid, Hazard could transform into a new player. Real Madrid are known for their ability to help players unleash their full potential and this is exactly what the Belgian should go for. His versatility will allow him to play in a number of positions for the Blancos.

New Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui should certainly go all out for the player, who is surely destined for bigger things in the future.
