According to a report by Daily Record, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has revealed that midfielder Ryan Jack is close to agreeing on a new deal with the club.
The Scotland international, who arrived at the Ibrox from Aberdeen back in the summer of 2017 on a free transfer, still has two years left in his contract. However, the club want him to sign a new deal. (h/t Daily Record)
Jack has been one of the bright sparks in the Gers’ midfield since his arrival. Under Gerrard, he has grown as a player and is one of the integral parts of the setup at the Ibrox.
It is no coincidence that the 27-year-old has featured in 16 games in all competitions this season and Rangers have made a strong start to this campaign on all fronts.
Below, we analyse his game in depth and conclude as to why the club are right to contemplate offering a new deal:
Ryan Jack is a prodigious midfield player, who has been consistently solid for Rangers for some time now. A central midfield player by trade, he is capable of operating as a wide midfielder or as a right-back if required.
The former Aberdeen captain has scored a goal and supplied two assists this season, along with putting up some commanding performances in the midfield with/without the ball.
In terms of his attributes, the Scotland international is a physically strong player and can pass the ball well. In addition to being a good dribbler, he also reads the game well from a defensive point of view and has a good turn of pace to boot.
Ryan Jack is a fantastic player with all the qualities to continue his good work for Rangers. Hence, the club has to offer him fresh terms in order to cement his future at the Ibrox.
