Why QPR starlet Eberechi Eze would be a good fit at Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha was heavily linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window but eventually had to stay put after no club met his valuation.
The Ivory Coast international, 26, was left ‘devastated’ after his attempts to leave Selhurst Park failed, amid transfer interest from Arsenal and Everton, although he has since appeared in all four of the Eagles’ Premier League games so far this season.
Arsenal appeared to be the first team to try and tempt Zaha away from the south London club, however, they failed in doing so and instead, signed Nicolas Pepe from Lille. With Arsenal out of the picture Everton then stepped up their interest in the nippy forward.
The Ivorian had even handed in a transfer request to try and force a move away from Palace to Goodison Park, but Everton failed to meet the Eagles’ valuation for their player.
Come January, there’s every possibility of seeing Zaha leave Palace as the player has previously admitted his desire to play in Europe.
Zaha is the biggest asset Palace have in their hands and his departure will definitely create a huge void in the team. Replacing the 26-year-old would be difficult and Roy Hodgson will have to be very smart while recruiting new players.
Back in January, the Football London had claimed that Crystal Palace were interested in signing Queen Park Rangers starlet, Eberechi Eze. While a move didn’t go through then, the 2020 winter transfer window could be the ideal time for the south Londoners to revive their interest in the player.
Eberechi Eze, 21, looks like one of the exciting players in the Championship. After breaking into QPR’s first team in 2017/18, he was one of the London club’s best players last season.
The 21-year-old bagged four goals and as many assists in 42 appearances for QPR last term, thus attracting interest from a host of clubs including Palace.
Palace have struggled for goals this season and with chances of Zaha leaving in January are high, Hodgson should turn towards Eze to add creativity and pace to his attack.
Eze has been hugely impressive since breaking into the QPR first team, operating in wide areas and behind the centre-forward.

The 21-year-old closely resembles Zaha in his fearless nature of taking on defenders and bamboozling them with his dribbling skills and occasional bursts of acceleration.
Although the former Wycombe Wanderers man is perhaps a bit more of a playmaker than a natural winger, he is equally adept playing in the wide areas and stretching opposition defences.
At just 21, Eze has all the raw ingredients and potential to become the ‘new Zaha’ for Palace. Before other clubs starting circling, Hodgson and co. must do everything possible to sign the prodigious talent from QPR.
