Why N’Golo Kante staying put at Chelsea is a big boost for Frank Lampard
Speaking in an interview with Telefoot (h/t The Express), N’Golo Kante revealed he could finish his career at Chelsea.
The Frenchman, 28, is under contract until 2023 and remains a key figure in the midfield under Frank Lampard. He has been instrumental in Chelsea’s fantastic start to the season after a mixed spell under Antonio Conte.
Despite rumours constantly linking him with a move to Real Madrid, N’Golo Kante’s interview does signify that he has no intention of leaving Chelsea. The midfielder’s recent interview should give Chelsea fans and Frank Lampard a massive boost.
Kante has been little short of sensational at Chelsea since making the switch to West London from Leicester City for £32m back in 2016.
Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, he has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe, whilst winning a Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Europa League and individually picking up the PFA Player’s Player of the Year award in 2017.
The 28-year-old may have not enjoyed an ideal start to the new season due to injury problems but he returned to Lampard’s starting XI against Crystal Palace on Saturday. He helped the Blues beat Roy Hodgson’s men to make it six wins from six and move to third in the Premier League table.
Lampard and Chelsea have shown they are more than willing to let the kids play, with Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James all currently playing significant roles at Stamford Bridge.
For any team to achieve success in domestic competitions and in Europe, there should be a blend of both youth and experience.

At 28, Kante has volumes of experience and possesses the winning mentality to help the youthful Blues side scale great heights in future.
Verdict
Truly, Real Madrid will have their work cut out trying to convince Chelsea to part ways with such an influential figure while Kante’s comments suggest that he has no interest in leaving Stamford Bridge.
