Why Manchester United Should Not Sign This Rising Premier League Star?

Manchester United seem to be missing that extra fire power in their attack and while they are still in a top 4 position, it does not quite seem to be a Manchester United team of the good old days, part of which is because of the way they play and part of the reason is that they have not been scoring he crazy number of goals we are all so accustomed to.

Manchester United have had world class strikers in Radamel Falcao and Robin Van Persie but neither of them have hit the heights that everyone expected them to, Falcao seems to be struggling from the injury which ruined his World Cup and Van Persie just has not clicked for Louis Van Gaal as much as he would have liked.

With the transfer market coming soon, it seems that United will be looking to sign a striker and while some big names are linked with the team, as is always the case, one player from the Premier League might be heading to Old Trafford, according to rumours, Danny Ings of Burnley might be on his way to United and that would not be the best signing for the Red Devils.

Signings? Sign Ings?

Let’s get one thing straight, Danny Ings is not a bad player by any measure, he has scored 9 league goals this season for a club that has really struggled to do well in the tough Premier League but moving to Manchester United is a big responsibility and the 22-year-old should have played a couple of more seasons at the top level before being shoved into the spotlight at a club as large as Manchester United.

He might be available on a free at the end of the season, but United should not move for someone who is not a complete package at the top level, Ings still needs to develop into a better player who can deliver day in and day out. Instead, United should be looking elsewhere as there are a lot of strikers available on the market for cheap. Just across the border Lacazette and Gicnac have been scoring goals for fun and they would probably cost the same as Ings.

Manchester United need a striker who is established and can guarantee the club at least 20 league goals next season, it is almost a surety that Radamel Falcao will leave the club as he has come on a loan and United will be looking to provide some sort of respite to the goal scoring workload that has been thrust upon Wayne Rooney, who has had to play out of position this season to accommodate Falcao and Van Persie.

Ings might not be playing in the Championship next season, if Burnley go down or even if they don’t, he needs to play in the Premier League to grow but not at the a top club like Manchester United, that would be too soon for him.
