Man City would find David Silva’s ideal backup by signing this 8-goal Serie A powerhouse – Agreed?

Why Manchester City should sign Suso as soon as possible

Manchester City will be saying goodbye to one of their greatest players of all time in David Silva, as the player looks set to leave the club after spending 10 years at the Etihad.

City have the strongest squad in the league with their strength in numbers and they probably have players who can come in for Silva within the squad but there aren’t many players with the same qualities. They’ll have to find someone else and replace him in the January transfer window.

A player they’ve been linked with is AC Milan’s Suso. The Spaniard has been Milan’s best player for a few seasons now, formerly of Liverpool.

Now 25, it is time for him to start looking for better options in order to win silverware and playing under a manager like Pep Guardiola will be a massive draw for him.

David Silva

Last season, he scored 8 goals and provided 8 assists from a central attacking midfield position and he’s likely going be playing as one of the advanced No.8s if he does move to City, while also being able to occasionally play on the right-wing and cut in on his left foot.

Suso is capable of taking set-pieces and has a fantastic shot from range. He’s also a very accomplished dribbler, who can play in tight spaces and retain the ball well, which is important for any player who plays under Guardiola.

There’s also a lot of room for improvement, as he’ll be heading into his prime in the coming years and there’s no one better than Guardiola to elevate a player’s skills. Suso also has a bit of pace in his change of direction and that could be an added bonus in their midfield.

Suso’s versatility makes him a fantastic option for Guardiola, who continues to be very flexible with his formations.

A player like Suso would be a solution to so many problems – chiefly, acting as the ideal replacement for David Silva.
