Why Liverpool Must Reject Real Madrid’s Offer Of €50m+Isco For Mohamed Salah

Real Madrid are planning an audacious swoop for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the summer. The reigning European champions are willing to offer a transfer fee of €50million plus Spanish playmaker Isco in order to land the Egyptian speedster ahead of next season, as per reports from Spanish outlet Diario Gol.

Los Galacticos president Florentino Perez wants to revamp the squad over the summer and sees Salah as the ideal addition to the team as they look to put up a stronger challenge in the La Liga next time around.

Isco is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in the game but has struggled for regular game time at the Santiago Bernabeu this term.

Mo Salah has been in sensational form since joining Liverpool from AS Roma last summer for a fee of £36.9 million. There was some amount of scepticism surrounding the forward when he arrived, given his well-documented struggles in England when he was with Chelsea.

However, Salah has managed to silence all the naysayers with his brilliant goalscoring exploits this term and has established himself as one of Europe’s most lethal marksmen in a matter of months. The former Roma man has been so influential for the Reds.

So far in the 2017/18 campaign, Salah has netted a whopping 39 goals in all competitions (43 appearances) and has also chalked up 13 assists in total. He currently sits on top of the Premier League goalscoring charts with 29 strikes to his name.

Since moving to Anfield, Salah has gone on to break quite a number of records. The 25-year-old is now the Liverpool player with the most number of goals in a single Premier League season, beating Robbie Fowler’s total of 36 in the 1995/96 campaign. He also has the honour of scoring the most goals by a Liverpool player in a debut season, beating Fernando Torres’ record of 33 goals during the 2007/08 campaign.

Salah also holds the record for the most goals in a season by an African player in a Premier League season, going past Didier Drogba who hit 29 goals for Chelsea during their title-winning 2009/10 campaign. With still a month left to be played in the season, more records are set to tumble without a doubt. Losing a player who has had such an impact since coming in would be a major blow for the Reds.

The prospect of signing Isco would be an enticing one for the Merseyside outfit, considering how the club haven’t replaced Philippe Coutinho after he left for Barcelona in the January transfer window. The 25-year-old Spaniard has scored 7 and assisted 8 for Madrid in 41 games across competitions this term and his performances for Spain during the international break provided more evidence that he is a world-class talent.

However, bringing in the 27-time capped Spanish international in a deal that could potentially see their top marksman move the other way would be ill-advised, to say the least.
