Liverpool must forget about making a move for this talented 18-year-old from top-six rivals – Here’s why

Why Liverpool must refrain from making a move for Callum Hudson-Odoi

Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of the brightest talents in England and should have featured under Frank Lampard but is out with an injury.

The 18-year-old was one of the stars in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign last season and was linked with a move to Liverpool in the previous campaign (h/t Express).

However, the English winger recently tweeted a video of him juggling the ball and Trevoh Chalobah wanted Hudson-Odoi to sign a new deal with the Blues.

Rhian Brewster claimed that Hudson-Odoi should sign the deal with Liverpool, but the Reds don’t need the Chelsea attacker.

Liverpool have a wealth of talent in the attack

Hudson-Odoi can play on either side of the attack and has also taken up the role of the central striker too.

However, Liverpool possibly have the best attacking trio in world football in Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Further, they have decent talent on the bench with Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi the cover for the wide players.

Brewster can also play in all three forward positions, and the youngster is still waiting for the chance to play in the first-team this season.

The Reds also signed Harvey Elliott from Fulham in the summer, and the 17-year-old could also get a few games in the wings this season.

Hudson-Odoi would want to start regular games once he is back from injury, and that isn’t possible at Liverpool at the moment.

The Reds have a fantastic starting XI but could do with more quality cover for the front three.

However, they have another rising star in Harry Wilson, and the Welshman is currently doing well at Bournemouth on loan.

Liverpool might also have had to spend big to sign Hudson-Odoi with Sky Sports claiming that Bayern Munich were willing to part with £35m to sign the Englishman.

Verdict

Liverpool signed a couple of youngster in the summer window but Hudson-Odoi shouldn’t be the next target for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp has a fantastic team at the moment and there is no place in the starting XI for the English youngster.
