Appointing Brendan Rodgers may be a great move but only if Leicester City provides him with the support he needs. However, the Sun has reported that the club are backing the Irishman all the way, with a £200million budget.
The report further added that Rodgers will be targeting a few stars over the summer and it includes Bournemouth star Callum Wilson. One area that Rodgers should look towards improving is his defence, and keeping both Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire will be key.
Giving him support will help the club, especially with both Wes Morgan and Jonny Evans moving past their prime. Caglar Soyuncu has struggled since his move from the Bundesliga and thus, Rodgers should look to add another centre-back.
While they should have their own shortlists, one player who Leicester City should be looking at is Jason Denayer. The 23-year-old has been a defensive rock for a struggling Olympique Lyon side this season, but it was last season that really saw him flourish.
Paired with Maicon, Serdar Aziz or even Ahmet Calik, Denayer was a consistent figure while on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray. The Belgian was in fine form, making a big impression on the rest of the world with his performances.
However, his time at Manchester City came to an end with the arrival of Aymeric Laporte in the winter of 2018. This saw a move to Lyon, where Jason Denayer has continued his form well into this season.
Denayer has ironed out any defensive issues that were present during his time with Manchester City and he has also bulked up. This combined with his defensive nuance and surprising speed for a centre-back makes him close to the perfect man to replace Wes Morgan.
The Jamaican is ageing badly and his struggles have been very evident. That’s to be expected given the fact that Morgan is 35 years old and past his prime.

This further establishes why Leicester City need to make a move for Jason Denayer and the club needs to do it fast.
It’s high time that the 23-year-old shows the Premier League what he can do, and after his spell at Manchester City, Denayer has a lot to prove. Moreover, a move makes sense for the Foxes and it’s one that they will regret if they don’t make it in the near future.
