Why Kevin Volland to Arsenal would be a good move
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Kevin Volland in January.
Volland, 27, has been in fine form since his move to Hoffenheim in 2012. In the summer of 2016, he switched to Bayern Leverkusen and is one of their key players up front. He has delivered consistently for the German outfit for the past three years, with 45 goals and 29 assists in 133 appearances.
He has been directly involved in 12 goals for the team this season, which is more than half of the total goals Leverkusen have scored so far. His contribution has been helpful for Peter Bosz’s side, who are currently 6th in the Bundesliga standings.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have appointed former player Mikel Arteta as the manager.
After a difficult time for the Gunners, they need players who can propel them to the top. They have failed as a defensive unit and also have very few established players in their ranks in other departments.
Arsenal have failed to score regularly, registering merely 25 goals in 19 matches so far. Therefore, going for a proper forward to support Aubameyang in January would be a good decision by the management.
The report suggests that the Gunners’ scouts have watched Kevin Volland in action recently and the German is expected to be one of the names put to Arteta before the transfer window opens.

The 27-year-old may not be a high-profile player and although he has been left out of the national squad for a long time, Volland has fared better than most of his teammates in the past few years.
According to Whoscored, Volland has registered 2.8 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1 dribble per game in the Bundesliga this season. He has also enjoyed a passing success rate at 72.3%, which is impressive for a striker whose aim is to find the back of the net frequently.
He would be the best option to partner Aubameyang at Arsenal, given his ability to score at a higher rate. Alexandre Lacazette has been on the bench for the majority of the season and Gabriel Martinelli is still too young to continue.
The Germany international has also got the experience of playing at a higher level and with him in Arteta’s squad, the Gunners can expect a lot more goals.

Verdict
The 27-year-old has just 18 months left in his contract and Arsenal must try to lure him to the Emirates on a cut-price deal.

Therefore, Arsenal going all out for the striker would be a good move in order to restore their hopes of finishing the season on a high note.
