Everton reigniting their interest in this La Liga boss’ talented 23-year-old son would be a terrific move by Silva

Everton opinion: Toffees should reignite their interest in Giovanni Simeone

Everton need reinforcements if they are to fight the Premier League’s big boys next season. While they have found their form in recent weeks with crucial wins, it may not be enough.

However, their issues up front have affected the club harshly, with Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison leading their top scorers list. But barring that, few others have managed to make any impact, with both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun struggling to find the net.

While the former has been a workaholic for the side, Calvert-Lewin has failed to find the target regularly. They need someone who can do that and that’s why the club have to re-ignite their interest in Fiorentina centre-forward Giovanni Simeone.

Everton were linked with a move back in 2017 according to the Sun, when Romelu Lukaku announced that he was going to leave the club. But nothing ever materialised and since then, Everton have struggled.

Simeone, on the other hand, has done exceptionally well and his performance with Genoa earned him a move to his father’s former club. The son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, Giovanni Simeone is a brilliant striker.

His first season saw him score 14 goals and create 5 assists in all competitions but he has struggled this season. Despite that, the 23-year-old is a class act and way better than what the Toffees have at their disposal at the moment.

A brilliant combination of speed, power and will-power, the Argentinean has it in him to flourish in the Premier League. But for Everton, the fact that he is a top class forward for Fiorentina alongside Federico Chiesa shows just how good he is.

It’s a move that the Toffees have to make, especially if they are to climb up the ladder in the near future.

Conclusion

In Marco Silva, Everton have a manager who can instil an attacking philosophy into the club. While the former Watford boss is a great manager, there is only so much he can do without the right striker.

Giovanni Simeone isn’t the only answer but with a few key additions, the 23-year-old can change the team.
