According to BBC, Everton forward Richarlison has signed a new deal that will keep him at Goodison Park until the summer of 2024.
The Brazilian, 22, arrived at Everton from Watford in the summer of 2018 and has since scored 20 goals in 55 appearances in all competitions.
He had just less than four years remaining on the contract he signed when joining from Watford, meaning the new deal is in effect a 12-month extension on improved terms.
Since moving to Merseyside, Richarlison has broken into the Brazil national team and become the most potent goal threat. In fact, he made his international debut for Brazil two months after joining Everton and now has 19 caps already.
Everton, meanwhile, recently sacked Marco Silva after a demeaning loss to Merseyside rivals Liverpool. Despite investing heavily this past summer, the Toffees look set to endure a tough December.
With upcoming games against Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal, Everton have arguably the toughest run of fixtures in the division.
Amidst a poor season so far for the Merseysiders, Richarlison has been a bright spot. He is already a Brazil international and one of the most talented young forwards in the Premier League.
While his primary objective is to score goals and create chances, the Brazilian is no slouch defensively and his work rate is unquestionable. Even when things might not be coming off in front of the goal, the Brazilian never stops trying to affect his side’s display.
In Richarlison, Everton have an exciting Brazilian, who can raise Goodison Park’s roof this season. But they also need to understand that he is just 22 and there will be times when his form will be up and down.
Richarlison has been a fantastic addition to the Everton squad and his decision to commit his long term future does sound advantageous for the club.
