2.9 key passes, 2.1 crosses – Crystal Palace can get the best out of Zaha by signing this Ukrainian star

Crystal Palace opinion: Should the Eagles go for Viktor Tsyhankov?

Crystal Palace have been on an upward spiral since the signing of Roy Hodgson as their new manager. The South London club are currently placed 13th, just 4 points off of 10th-placed Everton in the Premier League.

Wilfried Zaha has been incredible for Palace this campaign having scored 8 times so far including 3 in his last 3 games.

January recruit Michy Batshuayi has also been decent recently but Roy Hodgson has to address the right-wing role, with Andros Townsend scoring just 4 times in 29 appearances so far.

Roy Hodgson should consider signing Dynamo Kiev’s exciting 21-year old prospect Viktor Tsyhankov in the summer. The Ukranian has been brilliant so far this season, having scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 32 games in all competitions.

The 22-year-old is naturally a right winger and is most effective there but is capable of playing anywhere across the front-line. Tsyhankov possesses blistering pace and is an incredible dribbler of the ball.

Having made his debut in 2016, Tsyahankov has already made 100 senior appearances for the club and has scored an impressive 33 goals so far. His quick and exciting runs with the ball have made him a fan favourite at Kiev and is touted to be the next big thing in Ukranian football.

The Ukranian makes everything look so easy on a football pitch as he deceives the defenders in front him with relative ease.

Tsyhankov slows down his movement in possession to draw opposition defenders in before using his incredible quick feet to get away from them without losing the ball.

Being a creator, Tsyhankov always looks for a pass from the wing and rarely misplaces his balls. His patience on the ball as he waits for runs from his teammates is highly commendable and if a ball is unavailable, he has the ability to take on the opposition on his own.

Like Andros Townsend, the 22-year-old has the exceptional ability to shoot from distance. His left foot is a deadly asset and shots from his weaker foot causes all sorts of problems for the defenders.

The Ukrainian averages 1.7 shots on goal, 2.9 key passes, 2.1 crosses and 1.4 long passes this season with a healthy pass completion rate of over 80%.

Conclusion

Crystal Palace need reinforcements in the summer, especially with Michy Batshuayi set to return to Chelsea after his loan spell.

The signing of Tsyhankov from Dynamo Kiev opens up the possibility of playing Wilfried Zaha up front with the Ukranian and Townsend causing havoc on either wing.

Roy Hodgson will have plenty to think about the players who he has to target in the summer and Viktor Tsyhankov is one who he should seriously consider bringing to Selhurst Park.
