6 goals, 9 assists – Celtic signing this PL starlet on loan at Rangers would be an absolute steal in the summer

Celtic FC opinion: Hoops should sign on-loan Liverpool starlet Ryan Kent

The Daily Star has reported that Celtic could be interested in making a summer swoop for on-loan Liverpool starlet Ryan Kent. Currently at Rangers, the young forward has done relatively well in the Scottish Premiership, with 6 goals and 9 assists to his name in 38 appearances.

He has been a big part of what little Rangers have done to maintain their position in the league. At the moment, Celtic have a rather impressive 13-point lead in the Scottish Premiership and are the favourites to lift a domestic treble.

Rangers have struggled to keep pace with the club, losing the recent Old Firm derby. That has further dropped them down the pecking order in the league, and this has hurt the club. However, Kent, on the other hand, has really done well despite Rangers’ issues, even scoring a big goal in the Old Firm derby.

It showed just what the young winger can offer either side if a permanent move is made in the near future, especially for Celtic. The Hoops have struggled out wide this season and need reinforcements in the summer.

James Forrest, Scott Sinclair and Oliver Burke have done relatively well but Burke is on loan from West Brom and will return to his parent club. Sinclair and Forrest are players that the club can rest their laurels on but it’s not something that they should be doing.

The former is already 30 years old and will turn 31 in the summer, which isn’t something any manager would want in a winger. Forrest has failed to make the most of his talent consistently, only doing so this season and last season.

Before that, the 27-year-old failed to produce goals on a consistent basis, which is something that Ryan Kent can do. While he is still young, the 22-year-old has great talent and potential to burn, which is something that will flourish under the right manager.

Furthermore, his ability is undoubted and has been on show this season for Rangers, which is further why Celtic should consider making a move.

The Scottish Premiership isn’t the easiest league to adjust to and given its physical nature, few technically brilliant players make it. But Kent has proved that wrong this season.

Conclusion

Celtic do have a chance at the treble this season but this is about next season. The club needs reinforcements and adding someone as talented ad Ryan Kent is what will help them.

As mentioned, the 22-year-old has the talent to burn and that is something Celtic need to take advantage of.
