Burnley signing this terrific Championship star would strengthen them massively in the summer

Burnley opinion: Should Clarets sign Said Benrahma?

Sean Dyche’s Burnley are back in the mix as relegation contenders after a run of 3 games without a win. The Clarets are stuck in 17th place and are at a massive risk of going down.

Irrespective of their position in the league, Sean Dyche desperately needs to get rid of his older players next season. The likes of Jonathan Walters (35) and Aaron Lennon (32 next month) have been woeful when they have featured for Burnley this season.

The right-wing role has been a major concern so far and although Gudmundsson has been impressive at times, he has failed to be consistent.

This has forced Dyche to push central midfielder Jeff Hendrick out wide in recent games. Dyche needs to address this situation in the summer and Brentford’s Said Benrahma is a fantastic option.

The 23-year-old has been outstanding this season, having scored 10 and assisted 14 goals so far in all competitions. Benrahma joined the Bees in the summer from Ligue 1 side Nice and has been an instant hit in the Championship so far.

A fast and tricky winger, Benrahma has been used on both flanks this season and has caused a ton of problems to his opposition full-backs. His trickery and skill on the ball allows him to get out of tight spaces with ease and thanks to his pace, he cannot be caught when free.

Benrahma’s goals this season have been a treat to watch and his stunning free-kick against Swansea in December was awarded the goal of the month.

His hattrick against Hull City in February showed his prowess in front of goal with two coming from outside of the box and the other with a fantastic strike from the outside of his right foot.

One fantastic trait about Benrahma is his selflessness. The 23-year-old rarely ever ignores a teammate in a better position and this ability will be massively helpful for his team in a tougher league.

Conclusion

With 24 goal contributions in 38 games this season, Benrahma has proved his ability to the world and a move to a bigger club is the next step.

Burnley with their dire need for a right winger should make a move for the Algerian before somebody else takes notice of his fine form this campaign.
