Why Alfredo Morelos to Crystal Palace would be a top-class bargain
The south Londoners are open to adding more goalscorers to their team and have the Colombia international on their sights. Aston Villa are also in the race to sign him. (h/t Scottish Sun)
It is understood that Palace Sporting Director Dougie Freedman was at Tynecastle to watch Rangers’ league game against Hearts on Sunday and take a close look at Morelos. Villa’s representatives were also present to scout the striker. (h/t Scottish Sun)
Despite making a decent start to the season, Crystal Palace have struggled to score goals with regularity. So far, they have netted eight goals in nine games, which is way below the requirement to fight for a top-half finish.
Below, we analyse Morelos’ game and conclude as to why the Eagles must sign him:
Morelos would certainly add goals to this team
Alfredo Morelos is a top-quality forward line player, who prefers to play as a striker most of the time but is capable of operating as a winger on either side if required.
His record at Rangers has been sensational so far, with 62 goals and 24 assists in 110 appearances in all competitions. If we talk about this season alone, the 23-year-old has already netted 14 goals and assisted five in 19 appearances in all competitions. A serial goal-scorer, indeed!
In terms of his attributes, the Colombia international possesses great pace to make runs behind the defence and stretch the backline. Furthermore, he is a good finisher in the final third while being physically strong on/off the ball. Morelos is also a talented dribbler.
Without a shadow of a doubt, he would add some much-needed goals tp Crystal Palace’s tally.
Therefore, it is pretty clear that Roy Hodgson’s men must sign Alfredo Morelos in the January transfer window. They should do it quickly since Aston Villa are also lurking around.
