As per the Sun, Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday attacking midfielder Adam Reach when the January transfer window opens. The Molineux-based club even sent scouts to take a closer look at the player.
Even though the Old Gold have made a decent start to the season and look settled in the new surroundings, they are looking to add to their creative department. After impressing in the Championship campaign so far, Reach has caught the eye of Nuno Espirito Santo’s men. (Sun)
However, Sun suggests that the player is committed to Sheffield Wednesday for the season. He wants to play in the Premier League, ideally with the Owls, concurrently vanquishing any developments of him getting sold in the January transfer window.
Here’s why the latest update on Reach’s situation should be music to ears of the Wednesday faithful:
Adam Reach is a versatile player who can operate in several positions for the team. The best part is that he can impact the game regardless of the position he plays in.
Out of his 16 league appearances in the season so far, the 25-year-old has featured in seven of them as an attacking midfielder, three as a right-sided forward, two as a central midfielder, one each in wide midfield, centre-forward and the right-wing position.
It epitomises the type of player he is – very important and a manager’s thrill at every step of the season. Hence, Jos Luhukay should be a happy man after reading that the Englishman is committed to the team’s cause this season.
Though he can play in several positions, Reach is ideally more suited to playing as an attacking midfielder, from a tactical perspective. And his numbers of three goals and an assist from that role supports the case in point.
All in all, despite the interest coming from a Premier League club, it is vital for Wednesday that the 25-year-old stays with them to give his all. He is a key player and the manager should be delighted to see him remain devoted to the cause.
It helps in boosting the squad’s morale, aiding them to push harder for a possible top-flight promotion.
