Who’s this teenage Arsenal talent linked with an exit? Should Emery keep him?

Arsenal opinion: Scout report on Xavier Amaechi

Arsenal’s Europa League final may have ended in a disaster but there were a few bright sparks at the end. Joe Willock’s 12-minute cameo made him arguably the second best midfielder for Arsenal on the field that night and it does weave a path forward for the club.

Their youth team has been a beacon of hope in the past with former manager Arsene Wenger dipping into it on more than one occasion. The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Hector Bellerin, Alex Iwobi and Serge Gnabry over the years have all played a part.

However, it seems that their new generation alongside Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe and Joe Willock himself have also been targeted. But their best prospect maybe even better than either Fabregas or Gnabry. His name is Xavier Amaechi.

The young starlet has been incredible in the youth leagues and that has seen a few sides around Europe, including Bayern Munich, take a keen interest. It’s not good news for the Gunners and given his talent, they need to find a way to keep him

Here is everything you need to know about the youngster:

Scout Report – Xavier Amaechi

Current Club – Arsenal

Age- 18

Position – Forward

With Jadon Sancho paving the way forward for English starlets who do not get enough playing time, it seems that Arsenal and even Chelsea have to keep a close eye on their kids. However, given Xavier Amaechi’s talent, the Gunners will have a hard job doing that.

A very exciting player to watch, the 18-year-old has been phenomenal for the youth sides, contributing to 10 goals in 18 appearances. That is a great return for any player but Amaechi could be doing so much more.

Powerfully built, the 18-year-old depends heavily on his pace and agility to beat defenders, but has slowly started developing his technical skills. It’s not that he doesn’t have the skill or even the intelligence to beat a man, it’s that Amaechi prefers to dominate them using his raw speed.

The quintessential modern winger, the Arsenal starlet loves getting forward and does it with style and panache, often cutting in to let one rip from range. A left-footer, Amaechi can play on either side but prefers playing on the right as it allows him to cut in and do a lot of damage.

He’s equally proficient with his weaker right-foot, often surprising defenders. That being said, Xavier Amaechi has a lot to improve upon. His consistency and his composure in front of goal have a long way to go before he becomes a bonafide star.

He often takes his foot off the gas and sometimes disappears in the middle of matches. That isn’t a good trait but given that he’s only 18 years old, with time, that should hopefully disappear.
