Scout Report: Bjorn Engels of Olympiacos talks up potential Arsenal move

According to The Mirror, Bjorn Engels has expressed his desire to move to Premier League giants Arsenal in the near future.
This 24-year-old Belgian defender is destined for big things. Bjorn Engels is an Olympiacos player, who is currently plying his trade for Ligue 1 side Stade De Reims.
Since joining the French side in the summer, he has made an impressive 17 appearances in the league and even scored a goal in the process.
His stellar performances haven’t gone unnoticed either. He is being linked with some of the biggest clubs now and will return to parent club Club Brugge at the end of the season.
Background
He was born in the small town of Kaprijke in Belgium in 1994. He is currently 24 but has been playing club football since 2006.
He joined the Club Brugge youth academy from his local club Lokeren in July and spent many years making his way up the ranks. Finally, in 2013 at the age of 18, he was given a first-team contract by the Jupiler Pro League club.
He stayed at Brugge for a little more than 4 years before moving on to Olympiacos in 2017 – a period during which he made 97 appearances and scored 12. He even managed to pick up 6 assists during his time in Belgium.
He has made 24 appearances for Olympiacos and scored 3 times and is currently on loan at Reims.
Style of Play
He is a confident 6ft 4in central-defender, who can dominate all aerial duels irrespective of the height on the cross. He is also a calm player and is capable of controlling the ball and clearing even in high-pressure situations.
While he is a big lad, he certainly gets around and even has an impressive goal-scoring record for a central defender. His abilities will be useful in the Premier League’s aggressive footballing nature.
The Way Forward
The Belgian has expressed his desire to move to what he considers in the best league. He has also stated that playing for any Premier League team would be a huge honour because of the quality of football, according to The Mirror.
He has clearly stated that his preferred destination will be Arsenal. He has been in excellent form this season and the Gunners should notice him as a potential defensive option – be it now or sometime in the near future.
The report also suggests that his wife and family are all from Liverpool and support the Reds, meaning this could tilt the decision in another possible direction. Irrespective of which club he joins, he would be a positive addition to any side with his composure and calmness on the ball.
