Who Is This 22-Year-Old Mexican Ace Arsenal Are Targeting? Everything You Need To Know

Hirving Lozano

Scout Report – Hirving Lozano

Arsenal have been linked with signing PSV Eindhoven’s Hirving Lozano. If recent reports are to be believed, the Gunners will have to pay £30m if they want to sign the Mexican winger.

The Gunners apparently scouted Lozano recently, with Lozano having been heavily linked with Manchester United as well in the past. But as things stand, Arsenal seem ready to step in front of their Premier League rivals in order to sign the 22-year-old – even if it means shelling out quite an amount of cash.

Let’s have a look at Hirving Lozano’s profile.

History

Hirving Lozano joined Pachuca in 2009 as part of its youth team. In April 2017, Pachuca won the CONCACAF Champions League, with Lozano winning the Golden Boot as the competition’s top scorer with 8 goals, as well as picking up the Best Young Player Award.

He eventually made the switch to PSV Eindhoven in June and has been making waves in Dutch football in the opening weeks of the 2017/18 Eredivisie season after scoring 6 goals in as many games. Arsenal scouts have been rumoured to be closely monitoring the player, and with his impressive performances, it comes as no surprise that Arsene Wenger is keen on signing the youngster.

Style Of Play

The promising winger is extremely strong in crossing the ball, and is equally adept at holding on to the ball as well. His dribbling skills are top-notch and he seems to have a penchant for long shots. However, his discipline could prove to be an issue. In 6 games for the Dutch side, he has already received 2 yellow cards and a red card.

He is weak when it comes to passing as well, but these are seemingly minor issues which can be worked upon. As far as talent is concerned, Lozano is quite brilliant.

Lozano’s Future

Arsenal seem to be looking at Lozano as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean superstar has been a mainstay for the club but is in the final few months of his contract. It is possible that Arsenal might cash in on Sanchez in January to ease their financial damage.

Doing so could place extreme stress on Wenger to find an alternative. Their attack would not be as sharp without Sanchez, but if at all Wenger manages to sign Lozano, he will have one less problem to deal with. Although the 22-year old might not be as good as Alexis Sanchez, it has to be remembered that the Mexican has a lot of years in front of him to develop himself and turn out to be a superstar.
