Who Is This £15million Manchester United Target That Is Creating Media Buzzes

The winter transfer window is open and as always, transfer talk has its finger on the pulse when it comes to all the latest rumors and gossip.

A lot of people of people have had to say a lot about Manchester United’s style of play this season, especially the way they exposed opponent’s defensive frailties. Finally, Louis Van Gaal has admitted that at times he has been bored by United because of the strikers who failed to convert the goal-scoring chances.

The Dutchman has been linked with moves for a host of names who could add a little sparkle and consistency to their attack, but nothing has come to pass so far.

According to the Sun, Louis Van Gaal is pretty keen to sign Saul Niguez, the 21-year-old Spanish midfielder, presently serving Atletico Madrid. The paper reports that United have had a bid of £15 million for this Spaniard but got rejected by Diego Simeone, who is keen to hold this midfielder as he is a big part of his long term plans. It is being believed that this boy is admired by Van Gaal thanks to his creative abilities and might sign for United this month.

Niguez has also been linked with North London giants Arsenal as well. Saul has scored 5 goals in 35 appearances for Simeone’s side. If he departs for Old Trafford, he will be the fourth player to leave Atletico for the premier league in the last two years. Center-back Toby Alderweireld joined Spurs from this Spanish club last summer. Twelve months previously, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis, both were contracted by Chelsea.

Why LVG should sign this player as soon as possible?

Undoubtedly, this boy has a glaring future whether he wears a premier league outfit or a la liga outfit. This boy can fulfill the role of a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, left and right wing. He can exchange passes quite well, has pace and can convert the goal-scoring opportunities. His intelligence and vision are very decent and will surely give higher returns in the future.

Why LVG should avoid signing him?

If focused on the present scenario, Van Gaal needs a potential goal-getter, who can uproot his pressure, but this #17 is a bit defensive minded, busy picking up covering positions, rather than pushing forward and might not be the perfect addition to Van Gaal’s squad.

With United having Memphis Depay and Young out at front, the question arises that how would Saul fit at Old Trafford? As a CM? Or as a benched left or right winger waiting for his opportunity?

Of course he is only 21, but still his stamina is far less than desired, leading to confusion whether he can accept the premier league with a painless face? So, LVG should avoid signing him presently.
