Leeds United opinion – Scout report of Jonson Clarke-Harris

According to a report in Bristol Post, Leeds United are among the clubs keeping a close eye on Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris. A member of the Whites’ backroom was believed to be in the game between Bristol Rovers and Coventry City.

While that game was a goalless draw, it became pretty clear that the member of the Elland Road club was taking a very close look at the Rovers striker (h/t Bristol Post).

Clarke-Harris has had a decent season in Football League One, scoring 14 goals in 39 appearances. Hence, it was clear that Championship clubs would be tracking his progress in the coming months (h/t Bristol Post).

Jonson Clarke-Harris

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the player in a detailed scout report:

Scout Report – Jonson Clarke-Harris

Clarke-Harris is a youth product of Coventry City. He made his professional debut for the club in August 2010. In 2012, it got confirmed that the striker is not going to a receive a professional contract at Ricoh Arena, hence, he left the club.

His regular playing time came at Oldham Athletic and Rotherham United respectively. He scored 10 goals for both clubs but that came in 55 appearances for the former and 79 appearances for the latter combined.

He eventually came back to Coventry City in January 2018 and stayed until the turn of this year. In that period, the 24-year-old scored 10 goals in 50 appearances.

Clarke-Harris joined Bristol Rovers in the January window and has been in great form since. The return of 9 goals in 12 league appearances shows that he has improved markedly as a striker.

In terms of the attributes, the 24-year-old possesses raw pace to make runs in behind and stretch the defence. He is physically strong and wins loads of aerial duels, hence, he is a genuine threat from set-pieces.

The Englishman has enhanced his game when it comes to shooting on target and testing the opposition goalkeeper on a regular basis. He is not bad in dribbling in tight areas as well.
