Who Amongst Chelsea, Tottenham And The Manchester Clubs Should This Brilliant Premier League Star Join?

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign the Scottish midfielder Matt Ritchie according to the reports (The Sun).

Matt Ritchie, a new name in Barclays Premier League this season has done an exceptional job for his club this season. Not just this season, he was one of the main-man in Bournemouth squad who helped the team to achieve promotion. He scored 11 goals and had 13 assists under his belt last season for the club. Since the beginning of the season, the Scottish star has been helping the Cherries to compete in the league. With 38 appearances this season for the club, he has scored 4 goals and has 6 assists.

An unexpected surprise package this season, his performance have been overshadowed by some of the players from the league and no wonder why he has caught the eyes of Mauricio Pochettino and the scouts of Chelsea and Manchester United.  The Argentine though has developed a strong core at White Hart Lane, he will surely look forward to strengthening his squad this summer.

Though Ritchie signed a new three-and-half-year contract with the Cherries in January last season, an offer from the clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea or even Spurs will be the one that the player cannot easily refuse.

Speaking of Manchester United, Will he be a regular fit or will he end up in being a bit-part player?

Well, if Jose Mourinho takes over the Devils, he surely will reconstruct the squad and players like Fellaini, Young, Valencia etc will surely have to find an another club to stay in the sport. Then, United will need a midfielder who can support the players like Martial and Rooney upfront. Everyone knows how the relationship between Juan Mata and Jose Mourinho ended at Chelsea, keeping that in mind, Juan’s career as a Red Devil is a very big question and on the other hand, Michael Carrick is also considering a move to another club at the end of the season. Then surely, United will need someone like Ritchie. He may not be at the top of United’s list but he is the one who can answer many doubters. Deployed in the right wing, he can provide some quality crosses in the box for the strikers. Not just that he is also the player who strikes the ball with real venom. Looking at the stats, Ritchie is having a pretty good first season at the Premier League. In his 30 appearances for the club, he has created 35 chances and have an average passing accuracy of 75% plus, he have an average of 3 defensive actions per game. These are a pretty good numbers for the winger.

Currently Ritchie’s market value is €6m but there are some questions which are left blank like the amount of money Bournemouth will demand for this playmaker, salary demands, the length of the contract and most importantly, whether the player would be interested in the move.

With many players unsure about their future at the Stamford Bridge, Chelsea will look forward to bring this Scottish playmaker to the club to remain in the top flight of the league. Chelsea’s new boss Antonio Conte is rumored to target Roma’s Radja Nainggolan and is considering to make Cuadrado’s deal a permanent one at the Bridge then the signing of Matt Ritchie would make this playmaker more of a bench-warmer at the club.

But where exactly should this Scottish International go?

Tottenham Hotspur is the team who is already studded with some stars and is playing remarkably well. Not just their starting-11 but their bench looks so strong as well. Players like Chadli, Son, Bentaleb, Tripper can easily steal the playing time from this playmaker. And as mentioned earlier, Chelsea had already cleared out their target for this summer’s transfer window then only Manchester United is left where Ritchie would be a regular fit if and only if the Devils doesn’t make some new sensational signings.
