What Are The Cons Of Having One Of The Most Successful Manager In Europe At Manchester United

Louis van Gaal, the Dutchman has become the enemy number one for the Manchester United’s fans. He was supposed to bring luck; he was supposed to bring back the magic. Well, nothing of that happened and even after spending loads of money, the team is now fighting to finish in the top 4 of the table.

Not recently, but Jose Mourinho is heavily linked to Manchester United and every single fan would love to see the Portuguese taking the charge of Old Trafford. Many believe that he can bring back the glorious days and yet, there are many who think that, Old Trafford will lose its identity if Jose takes over.

Before leaving Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson concluded the chapters of Manchester United by winning the premier league title and just after that, Manchester United have performed nowhere near his standards. David Moyes’s era was one of the horror shows for the fans and the arrival of the Gaffer brought the hope. Unfortunately, the Dutchman was incapable of adopting the nature of the premier league and the side failed yet again.

Jumping back to the present era, Manchester United have been struggling a lot in every competition. Of course, they still have the FA cup in their hand but, we saw how ineffective United was in the Champions League. United fans want to end this season as soon as possible and want to forget everything that happened this season.

Well, to be honest, I personally feel that van Gaal was not that awful. Imagine, 14 senior players were out injured and Van Gaal had to introduce the young graduates from the academy. Haven’t we enjoyed the performance of Lingard, Rashford, and Mensah at times? I absolutely did.

Coming back to the Mourinho rumor. Well, everything has its pros and cons and so does Mourinho’s arrival has. Of course, there are plenty of positive aspects but we do have to look at the consequences as well.

Here are some of the Cons of Mourinho joining Manchester United-

Forget the Youth Policy-

We have witnessed at times that Manchester United is majorly known for its youth policies. Whether it be Sir Alex under whom the team got Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs , Paul Scholes, David Beckham, or be it the Dutchman Louis van Gaal, who is giving the team’s youth every single opportunity to grab. But, Mourinho’s plans are so straight simple. If you can perform you are into the squad. He doesn’t believe in giving chances and that is the main reason that we haven’t witnessed any youth emerging under Jose Mourinho.

He gave some opportunities to Loftus-Cheek in the initial stages of this season but that was mainly because of the players injury. No one can predict what will happen to this season hero (Rashford, Lingard, and Mensah). Mourinho needs force, he needs players to support the attack and drop back when in need. This requires a lot of stamina and you just cannot expect this from a young graduate to run 14-15 km in a single game. Mourinho believes in senior player strategy and will always stick to his rules. His arrival will obviously bring some good signings into the squad and that will surely affect the United’s traditional youth policy and that is the main reason why the critics feel that Mourinho would destroy Red’s identity.

Say Bye-Bye to the crowd Favourite-

United haven’t performed well this season but they had some good moments this season. The team lacked in its final third but that doesn’t mean they were deficient in playmaking skill as well. Blind played most of the season as a center back but, was deadly in his long balls. Juan Mata was one of the best playmakers for United this season and Ander Herrera, well he had his moments as well. The team usually never gets rid of the players who are the fan favourites but, on the other side, we have Jose Mourinho who doesn’t carry a healthy reputation in term of keeping a good relationship with the players.

Juan Mata’s career will be affected for sure and there will be some other players who could have to find another club to stay in the sport. Mourinho let go of Iker Casillas during his Real Madrid Days. During his second spell at Chelsea, he sold Petr Cech and Juan Mata. The 2 times player of the year for the London’s club was taken for granted by the Portuguese tactician and was eventually sold.

You see my point here, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata will be the players whose career will be in menace if he arrives and not a single Manchester United fan want to see anyone of those leaving the club in the coming years.
