West Ham Opinion: Why the Hammers should make a move for Ivan Perisic
Back in April, the Sun claimed West Ham were interested in signing Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
Perisic, 30, has been with Inter since 2015 and bagged nine goals and eight assists last season. However, he could be moved on this summer as new Inter boss Antonio Conte recently made it clear the Croatian doesn’t fit in his style of play.
Plus, the 30-year-old could fall further down the pecking order if Conte succeeds in signing his summer’s top target – Romelu Lukaku.
The Croatian international’s days are currently numbered at Inter and given his situation, the time would be ripe for West Ham to reignite their interest in Perisic.
West Ham have made some quality additions so far in the transfer market as Manuel Pellegrini bids to achieve a place in Europe next term.
The departures of Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez and Marko Arnautovic has weakened Pellegrini’s options in the attack and despite bringing in the likes of Pablo Fornals and Sebastien Haller, the Chilean manager should eye further reinforcements upfront.
One player who will certainly improve the Hammers’ attack is Ivan Perisic. The Croatian has been playing at the highest level for some years now and his record of nine goals and eight assists last season showed he can still make a huge impact at 30.
He is a left-winger by nature but capable of featuring on the right or through the middle as a no.10 or secondary striker
The ex-Borussia Dortmund man would truly help push the club on to the next level and give the side an entirely new dynamic in the final third. The prospect of the 30-year-old linking up with the likes of Haller, Anderson and Fornals is mouthwatering, to say the least.

Perisic is a fantastic player and would bring pace, drive, energy, goals and assists to the West Ham side that struggled for goals last term. Not to forget, the Croat’s rich experience would also come in handy for the Hammers.
Whilst Perisic may now be entering the twilight years of his career, West Ham should sign him this summer. The east London outfit would truly benefit by signing the Croatian international, where he will be an important player, both on and off the pitch.
