West Ham signing this talented Brazilian with €60m release clause would be a very clever move by Pellegrini

West Ham opinion: Why West Ham should sign Everton?

According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, West Ham are set to battle it out with Manchester United for Gremio’s highly-rated winger Everton in the summer.

The report reveals that Serie A sides Inter Milan and AS Roma are also interested in the Brazilian, who has a release clause of around €60million. However, Gremio would be willing to accept a bid in the region between €20million and €30million and West Ham should make a move in the summer.

The Hammers broke their transfer record last summer when they brought in Felipe Anderson, who has been a massive hit at the Olympic stadium this season. Anderson has scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists so far.

However, the addition of Everton to the Hammers squad will give Manuel Pellegrini the tempting option of pushing Felipe Anderson more centrally and that would take the Hammers’ attack to a whole new level and help them achieve their ambitions.

Everton has predominantly played on the left wing for Gremio since his debut but is highly capable of playing on the right or through the middle in a number 10 position. The 23-year old has shown real promise in the Brazilian top-flight, which has earned him 4 senior Brazilian caps already.

Everton is a typical Brazilian wide player possessing fantastic pace, dribbling skills and incredible trickery on the ball through which he leaves opposition defenders on the floor before making his way towards the goal.

The Brazilian rose to fame last season in the Serie A where he scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in an impressive campaign where he started 24 games.

Everton featured on both flanks in the season but was highly effective in his natural position on the left flank where he caused serious damage by cutting in onto his stronger right foot.

One of the things that Everton should avoid under Manuel Pellegrini is the tendency to hold onto the ball a bit too long at times. The Brazilian will thrive under the former Manchester City boss who lets youngsters express themselves on the pitch.

Everton would feel at home at the Olympic stadium with compatriot Felipe Anderson and fellow South Americans Fabian Balbuena, Manuel Lanzini, Carlos Sanchez and also Manuel Pellegrini, who will all help the youngster settle in well.

The Brazilian would be a fine fit at West Ham and would vastly improve the Hammers’ attacking prowess in the Premier League. Pellegrini should not hesitate to bring the Brazilian under his wing in the summer.
