West Ham opinion: Should the Hammers sign Aleksandar Mitrovic?
According to a report from The Daily Star, West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is preparing for a huge overhaul of his squad in the summer. The Hammers could be without as many as seven players at the start of next season, of which 3 of them would be their current strikers.
The report reveals that Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez, as well as Javier Hernandez, could all be moved on from the club in the summer. The news of Chicharito comes in as a bit of a shock due to the fact that he has scored the same amount of goals as Marko Arnautovic.
The former Manchester United forward has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Valencia in a deal reported to be worth £8million and Manuel Pellegrini wants to use that money to revamp his squad for next season.
If the above-mentioned forwards are sold in the summer, the Hammers will be left with just Marko Arnautovic and Michail Antonio as their recognized strikers, which would again be a bit of a problem considering their goal return this season.
West Ham will need to invest in a new striker, who has a proven record of finding the net regularly, and Manuel Pellegrini has identified Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic as an ideal option in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Serbian hitman is Fulham’s top scorer this season with 11 goals to his name but his fantastic output has not been able to keep the Lilywhites up this season.
However, he has been a real hero for Fulham this season and he could have an even better impact with the Hammers if they manage to sign him in the summer.
Mitrovic is an old school centre-forward, who thrives with the physical side of the game. The former Newcastle man has always been up for a challenge. He is a player who has his heart on his sleeve during a game.
This has at times been an issue in terms of discipline but the Hammers could really do with a player who is willing to get down and dirty for the team.
Mitrovic has proven that he is a reliable goal scorer this season with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Marco Arnautovic around him, his return would definitely increase, which will in turn increase West Ham’s chances of achieving their European ambitions next season.

Conclusion
Aleksandar Mitrovic is exactly the type of striker that West Ham need in the summer. The Serbian would surely bring them goals and his attitude would certainly make him a fan favourite.
Still only 24, Mitrovic still has a lot to offer in his career and the Hammers could have him leading their line for a long time if they sign him in the summer.
