Wesley Fofana made his professional debut almost a year later in 2019, contributing to a 3-0 victory against Nice. After a tenure of nearly five years with Saint-Etienne, including his time in the youth system since 2015, he opted to elevate his career to the next level by joining the Premier League side, Leicester City.

Leicester City

Leicester City secured Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne on a 5-year deal, with the reported transfer fee being £36.5 million. His arrival in 2020 was aimed at bolstering Leicester’s defense after the departure of star defender Harry Maguire to the Red Devils. Fofana seized the opportunity to make his debut for the club against Aston Villa on October 18, 2020.

His career went on smoothly for the time being as he settled into the new atmosphere and club. The next year was great for Fofana, as he played in the 2021 FA Cup final, which Leicester ended up winning. Additionally, in the same year, he ended up winning Leicester City’s young player of the season award.
