Returning Asian Games winner Son would make a massive difference for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur were duly picked apart by a rampant Watford side that dispatched them 2-1 last weekend but Spurs have won the other three games. Mauricio Pochettino opted against making any summer signing but the Lilywhites have still looked confident and cohesive, excelling under Mauricio Pochettino.

They were in fiery form against Manchester United, whom they beat 3-0 at Old Trafford two weeks ago.

Though Lucas Moura was signed in January, the Brazilian very much represents the club as a new signing this season. He has already picked up 3 goals in 4 games, with two of those coming against Jose Mourinho’s side.

And now with Son Heung-Min returning from the Asian Games, Tottenham are set to become stronger when the Premier League returns after the international break. A very underrated player at Tottenham Hotspur, Son is one of their main driving forces going forward.

The South Korean, who joined Tottenham for £22m, scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 37 Premier League appearances last season. Generally regarded as a winger, Son is also capable of playing as a striker, as he so often did for Pochettino’s side last season. A very mobile and tenacious attacker, Son possesses a number of qualities to flourish in the final third.

Despite not making any signings over the summer, Pochettino can now rely on Son, Kane and Lucas Moura (who has also been deployed as a second striker over the last two weeks), to lead the line. Son’s arrival provides Pochettino with a plethora of options up front.

The manager can now choose between Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son to play as a wide forward, while the other player plays as a second striker behind Kane. Son also provides depth and cover for the team. With Vincent Janssen out for a considerable amount of time and Fernando Llorente failing to impress so far, a returning Son will definitely make the difference to this Tottenham Hotspur side.
