A resounding second-half performance from Chelsea helped them beat Watford 3-0 at Stamford Bridge and move up to third in the Premier League table.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, David Luiz and Gonzalo Higuain were the scorers for the Blues, who came to life after half-time and blew the Hornets away.
After a quiet opening in the game, where both teams tried to take control but couldn’t manage to, the home side took the lead three minutes into the second half.
A clever Eden Hazard cross following a corner was pinpoint towards Loftus-Cheek, who did well to find space in the box and head the ball home.
Three minutes later, the lead was doubled, this time with Hazard delivering a peach of a corner for Luiz to come storming in and head it home.
15 minutes from time, Higuain tripled the lead with a clever chip over Ben Foster, after he was slid through by Pedro on the side one of the Watford centre-backs.
All in all, it was a comfortable afternoon for Chelsea, who are now third in the table and in pole position to qualify for Champions League football through the league.
It was a much-needed victory as Arsenal and Manchester United wasted their chances to stay in the top-4 race.
Chelsea can now finish 3rd in the table if they seal a victory on the final day of the league season.
