Marco Asensio hasn’t featured for Real Madrid this season due to an injury

Spanish forward Marco Asensio, who suffered an ACL injury during pre-season, has been putting in extra hours during his rehabilitation process to make a comeback as soon as possible.

The speedster suffered a ruptured ACL and meniscus in his left knee during a friendly meeting with Arsenal in July.

On 7 August, he successfully underwent surgery, but still has to spend most of the 19/20 season on the sidelines.

Marco Asensio has approached the rehab process with optimism right from the start. The footballer keeps his fans updated by uploading videos of his progress.

It seems that he is closer to coming back in a recent video shared by the club’s Twitter handle.

In the video shared on the site, the Real Madrid forward can be seen completing a series of tedious exercises.

Earlier, the Real Madrid midfielder has been taken through hydrotherapy sessions in the covered pool at the club’s training complex in Valdebebas.

Asensio walked slowly through the water is one of the first exercises in the rehabilitation program.

Ever since his transfer from Mallorca to the Spanish heavyweights, Asensio has often been heralded as the next big star of the future.

How long Asensio will be out depends on how quickly he is able to get through each stage of recovery. However, that could last anything from six to eight months.

Injury woes continue to haunt the Spanish juggernauts

Los Blancos forward Lucas Vazquez is the latest to be added to their long injury list.

The 28-year-old joins James Rodriguez, Nacho and Asensio on the injury list. Real’s upcoming fixture is against Real Sociedad, who sit two points behind them.

The Spaniard broke his toe last evening during a freak gym accident after he dropped a weight while working out.

Vazquez spent six weeks out with a calf injury but is now estimated to be sidelined for a month. The Spanish international has played nine games this season, scoring just once.
