West Ham United had a really good start in the last season and their form continued for a better part of the season. The Hammers managed to finish at the 7th position and missed out by just a single point to qualify for the Europa league. Slaven Bilic must be satisfied with the way his side showed consistency and character in the last season and the expectations have risen for this season. The fans are optimistic and are hoping for their team to do better than last season. West Ham do have quality players at their disposal and are on the look-out to sign a couple more to add strength to their side. Here are the three players to watch out for this season.
Dimitri Payet
The Frenchman had a wonderful Euro cup as his side lifted the trophy and his contribution was phenomenal. Payet had a good last season and he is getting better at this game and a dominant figure in the attacking midfield. Bilic will heavily rely on his services to create the chances on goal and also to net in a few. Payet managed to hit the back of the net 9 times and also had a spectacular 12 assists in the last season. If his form continues, West Ham will surely march on with confidence this time around.
Aaron Cresswell
The 26 year old left back who was a transfer target of some big clubs in the summer is another player who remained consistent the last season and whose defensive services will be needed by the team. The left back was good in attack as well with two goals and four assists in the last season. The Hammers were having defensive troubles and if Cresswell improves upon his tracking and marking, it will do his side a huge favor once the league starts.
Andy Carroll
The former Liverpool striker was looking lost in his career until his move to West Ham. Carroll has managed to regain his lost touch and was seen in goal scoring action with nine goals in the last season. If the English striker improves upon his pressing and finishing, West Ham can really be an attacking threat with Payet being their crucial playmaker to provide chances for the talismanic striker. However, the Hammers will have to improve in other departments as well but if these three fire then their side is surely achieving something in the next season.
