Warnock to make 3 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Cardiff line-up to face Aston Villa

Predicted Cardiff City Line-up To Face Aston Villa In The EFL Championship

This is a massive game for the top-four in the Championship, with Cardiff looking to secure their automatic promotion to the Premier League and Aston Villa looking to push on a get to 2nd place finish as well.

Cardiff were in good form until their loss to Wolves and were very unlucky not to get something from that game. Before their draw with Sheffield United, they had won 8 in a row and looked nailed on for that second place but they will have to put these late season wobbles aside and beat Aston Villa to ensure they play Premier League football next season.

Probable Cardiff City XI

Manager: Neil Warnock

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Neil Etheridge (GK)

Etheridge hasn’t been the most consistent performer for Cardiff this season. He will be looking to prove that he can be relied upon in these last few games.

Joe Bennett (LB)

The 28-year-old left-back has had a good season for Cardiff down the left-hand side and always looks solid defensively. Wins a lot of his aerial duels and tackles.

Sol Bamba (CB)

The experienced rock at the back of the Cardiff defence, Bamba seems like he has been around for centuries. He’s still very solid defensively and is absolutely dominant in the air.

Sol Bamba

Sean Morrison (CB)

The captain is a sure starter for Cardiff. He is a player of Premier League quality and will be keen on keeping his team motivated after the disastrous loss to Wolves.

Matthew Connolly (RB)

The 30-year-old right-back always looks good defensively and that is his job in the Cardiff team. Will be looking for a good performance against Aston Villa to keep Adomah quiet.

Marko Grujic (CM)

Grujic has been a great signing and has brought Cardiff a boost in the midfield for the second half of the season.

Craig Bryson (CM)

In Cardiff’s excellent 8-game winning run, Craig Bryson was a mainstay in the midfield. Brings bite to the centre of the pitch, as he tackles and breaks up the play with ease.

Kenneth Zohore

Callum Paterson (CAM)

The Scottish attacking midfielder has had a very good season for Cardiff. He has contributed 9 goals and 4 assists to the team and always looks likely to bring a creative spark to the side.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing (RW)

Adds pace and hunger to the Cardiff attack and balances the skill that Hoilett brings on the left. He has 6 goals and 4 assists in the Championship this season.

Junior Hoilett

Junior Hoilett (LW)

Has been a class act this season and is always a handful for the opposition. He was off the boil against Wolves but should rip Villa open here.

Kenneth Zohore (ST)

The 24-year-old has been a little inconsistent this year but he is a brute of a player who always gets in and around the opposition defence to cause them hassle. He has 4 goals and 2 assists in his last 8 games, which is actually a rich vein of form. He will be hoping to push on and score a few more before the end of the season.
