Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup To Face Leicester City
Tottenham Hotspur will embark on a trip to the King Power Stadium as they gear up to take on Leicester City on Thursday night in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side confirmed their 2nd place finish in the league after they clinched a 2-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday in their final game at White Hart Lane. They will want to wrap up the season with wins in their final 2 games. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw the last time they met in a league encounter, but Spurs will want all 3 points come Thursday.
Team News
Kieran Trippier was taken off injured against Manchester United late in the game and may not be risked at Leicester. Danny Rose is a slight doubt for the game while Erik Lamela and Harry Winks have been ruled out for the season.
Probable Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Hugo Lloris (GK)
The Frenchman is in contention for the Golden Glove at the end of the season having kept 15 clean sheets. Will want to add another on Thursday.
Kyle Walker (RB)
With Trippier taken off injured on Sunday, Poch may well decide to not risk him and will use Walker against the Foxes.
Toby Alderweireld (CB)
One of the best defenders in the league, he is a sure starter in the backline for Tottenham. Will have to keep Jamie Vardy in check.
Jan Vertonghen (CB)
Alderweireld’s compatriot, Vertonghen will occupy the second centre-half spot and keep things tight at the back.
Ben Davies (LB)
With Danny Rose still incapacitated, Davies shall continue in the left-back role. He has done very well in recent weeks and another strong performance can be expected.
Eric Dier (CM)
The 23-year old has been relishing his role in the midfield in recent matches. Expect him to hold on to his place.
Victor Wanyama (CM)
The Kenyan scored against United on Sunday and will be high on confidence. Will partner Dier in the middle of the park.
Christian Eriksen (RW)
Tottenham’s creator in chief, Eriksen will take his rightful spot on the right flank and look to cause problems to the Leicester defence.
Dele Alli (CAM)
The 21-year old has had another excellent campaign and has scored 21 goals in all competitions. Will want to add more to his tally.
Son Heung-Min (LW)
Has looked menacing on the left flank in recent weeks, but hasn’t found the back of the net. Will look to change that this midweek.
Harry Kane (ST)
Just two goals shy of Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Golden Boot award, Kane will be itching to get on the scoresheet against a makeshift Leicester City defence.
