West Brom vs Derby County report: West Brom match report

Penalties turned out to be theme of the day at Pride Park as West Brom chipped in with a late Kenneth Zohore equaliser against Derby County from the spot too before boss Slaven Bilic was sent off for two yellow cards.

Martyn Waghorn opened the scoring early from the penalty spot for Derby County. He had a chance to double the lead before the break when the Rams were awarded another spot-kick which this time was denied by West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

West Brom equalised with five minutes to go when Kenneth Zohore converted from the penalty spot, shortly before their manager Slaven Bilic was given the marching orders.

Derby were looking to win at home for the first time this season and enjoyed the perfect start as they took the lead in the sixth minute. Waghorn drove into the right side of the area and was taken down by Kieran Gibbs to be awarded a penalty. And Waghorn stepped up and scored in the middle past Johnstone.

The Rams were awarded another penalty just before the break, despite the appeals from West Brom, including Bilic, who picked up a yellow card. Waghorn stepped up again but this time he was denied by Johnstone.

West Brom, meanwhile, had the best of the half to level the score in injury time when Kenneth Zohore was played through and went one-on-one with Kelle Roos. But the Derby goalkeeper came out on top as he got enough on the ball to send it out.

In the second half, the Baggies probed with substitute Grady Diangana striking on target from the edge of the box, but Roos dived to keep it out. However, they found the equaliser with five minutes to go, also from the penalty spot. Zohore stepped up and struck into the right of the goal to eke a point for the visitors.
